Summary: IEAntivirus is rogue security software that comes into user’s PC system through Vundo Trojan, Virus or fake software, generating fake system warning alerts and fake scan results to deceive users into paying for its license. IEAntivirus comes from rogue antispyware programs such as MalwareBell, MalwareBell 3.2 and IE Defender. Not only does it cause your computer to slow down without explanation, it would also put your data and privacy in risk. We recommend you to run a scan of computer to detect any spyware threats.

Files associated with IEAntivirus

  • %UserProfile%\Desktop\IE AntiVirus 3.2.lnk
  • %UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\IE AntiVirus 3.2.lnk

  • %ProgramFiles%\IEAntiVirus\ieas.db3
  • %ProgramFiles%\IEAntiVirus\ieav.exe
  • %ProgramFiles%\IEAntiVirus\uninst.exe

Then, it will create the following registry entry so that it executes no matter when Windows starts up.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\”antispy” = “C:\Program Files\IEAntiVirus\ieav.exe”

Registry Subkeys Associated with IEAntivirus

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IEAntiVirus
